The Water We Want Campaign
aunched by WAMU-NET in October 2019, the Water We Want aims to explore our inherited and multifaceted water heritage from the perspective of young people. The contest calls to action young museum audiences worldwide, inviting them to creatively explore through art, media and photography, the importance of our water heritage in the context of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) – that is, what can we learn from our watery past to look after our liquid future? Living Waters Museum put out a call for contributions and organised two storytelling events in Ahmedabad in early December 2019 with Gauri Raje and Sukrit Sen providing background music.
The first event (Dec. 1, 2019) was at the Khoj Children’s Museum for a mixed group of children from 6 to 13 years, and the second event was held on World Disability Day (Dec. 3, 2019) in partnership with Sahapedia for children with special needs supported by Prabhat Education Foundation. The art-work submitted by children from Prabhat was sent as part of our shortlisted entries to WAMU-NET for the digital exhibition they will be launching in late May 2020.
